This workshop is conducted as a outcome of the research project funded by the Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI) titled “Developing a Personalization System for Supporting Lifelong Learning of Elderly People” (Grant Type: KAKENHI Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (C), Project Period: Reiwa 3–Reiwa 6 [2021–2024], Project Number: 21K02823).

Keynote speakers

Professor Hidetsugu Suto ( Kindai University, Japan )
Dr. Hidetsugu Suto is a professor at the System Design Laboratory, established in 2022 at Kindai University, Japan. He earned his Informatics Diploma from Kyoto University, Japan, in 2004. Dr. Suto’s research interests focus on communication and media informatics, encompassing community design, Kansei engineering (affective engineering), cognitive science, and educational systems. He is actively involved in projects proposing novel communication systems based on the BI/MB concept. His work has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Best Paper Awards from SICE (2003) and JSKE (2016), as well as Best Presentation Awards from the Human Interface Society (2004, 2006) and JSKE (2009).

Dr.Qianran Wang ( University of Tsukuba, Japan )
Dr. Qianran Wang is a research administrator of Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences at University of Tsukuba. She has a PhD in Education from Nagoya University in Japan. Her research interests include educational gerontology at community level, community activation through self-determined learning, and Japanese social education.
Special lectuers

Professor Matsunobu NOMURA (Akita University of Art, Japan)
Professor Nomura was born in April 1959 and earned a Ph.D. in Engineering from Akita University.
He is currently the Director of the Career Center at Akita University of Art. His research interests include educational engineering and visual information processing.

Professor Jiunn-Woei Lian (Department of Information Management, National Taichung University of Science and Technology, Taiwan)
He received his PhD degree in Department of Information Management from the National Central University, Taiwan. His research interests include electronic commerce, electronic business and IS applications in organization. His researches have appeared in Decision Support Systems, Computers in Human Behavior, International Journal of Information Management, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Technology in Society, Journal of Organizational Computing and Electronic Commerce, Enterprise Information Systems, Electronic Library, Library Hi Tech., INQUIRY, Computers and Electronic Engineering among others.

Dr. Makiba SAKAMOTO (Hokkaido Information University, Japan)
Dr. Sakamoto is a lecturer of Faculty of Information Media, Hokkaido Information University. She learned a Ph.D. in Engineering from Muroran Institute of Technology. Her research interests include visual design and Kansei Engineering.
